Kumul AI: In Support of Papua New Guinea's Five National Goals

Kumul AI is an education initiative from East Sepik Province, created for the greater good of Papua New Guinea. Beginning in East Sepik and expanding to other communities, Kumul AI will help every child gain equitable access to Papua New Guinea's education curriculum, digital learning tools, and community-based support.

Supporting the Five National Goals

  • Integral Human Development

Kumul AI gives learners and teachers access to educational resources, digital tools, and opportunities that help every person reach their full potential.

  • Equality and Participation

Kumul AI connects schools and communities so that children in rural, remote, and urban areas can participate equally in education and the digital economy.

  • National Sovereignty and Self-Reliance

Kumul AI strengthens local knowledge, skills, and decision-making, empowering Papua New Guineans to build solutions for their families, communities, and nation.

  • Wise Use of Natural Resources and the Environment

Kumul AI supports education, responsible innovation, and sustainable development while encouraging communities to protect their land, environment, and resources for future generations.

  • Papua New Guinean Ways

Kumul AI respects and promotes Papua New Guinea's cultures, languages, traditions, community values, and ways of learning while connecting them with modern technology.

First Deployment

The first 40 Kumul AI kits are ready for deployment across East Sepik Province.

Teachers and principals at the selected schools are invited to create their accounts on the platform now. Schools should also arrange for authorised student information to be uploaded securely, with the appropriate consent and privacy protections, so student access can be established as quickly as possible.

Schools that are not included in the first deployment are encouraged to submit their details, contact information, and location through the registration form. These submissions will help us plan the second batch of installations.

Registration is open to:

  • Government schools
  • Church-run schools
  • FODE centres
  • Technical and vocational schools
  • Private schools
  • Early childhood education centres
  • Eligible schools in Sandaun Province
